Born on the 17th of May 1936, Mr.Ismail was very inquisitive in school and was interested in the field of Science and Technology. He joined in the Dept. of Health and Family Welfare Services, GOVT of Karnataka as a Clerk and served for 33 years.
Became a Radio Amateur in 1987
Soon after getting his Grade II license he has been very much active on air. He had even successfully homebrewed a V.H.F transceiver. He has been the net controller on V.H.F since 1999. You can also get to see Mr.Ismail in the forefront of all kinds of activites like motor rallies, "jamboree-on-the-air", Hunting Lion Contests, Fox hunts and several ham awareness programs. He even spoke about Ham Radio for general awareness at Ham Fest 1993 held at Salem. He was also present at the fourth national games for establishing communications.
His sons Mujeeb (VU3REL), Ibrahim (VU3REJ) and a daughter Saleema (VU3OJI) are also hams
